CARL D. HOHNER
Carl D. Hohner of Novato, a retired railroad machinist and electrician, died yesterday in a local convalescent hospital after a brief illness. He was 77.
Born in St. John, Kans., he moved to California 35 years ago, living most of the time in the San Bernardino area. He moved to Novato three years ago. He was a longtime employee with the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad.
He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Novato and of the Knights of Columbus in Colton.
He is survived by his wife, Adele Hohner, at home; a daughter, Barbara J. Merritt of San Anselmo; a sister, Mabel Hanson of Seattle, Wash.; and his stepmother, Pearl Hohner of St. John.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Rita’s Catholic Church, Fairfax, followed by entombment in Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. tomorrow in the Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo.
