Dead Actor Spent Youth In San Rafael

Several well known residents of San Rafael are mourning the sudden death Tuesday night in Los Angeles of Edwin Stevens, noted motion picture actor and former popular star of the legitimate stage. Stevens appeared for several seasons in the old Tivoli opera house in San Francisco.

In his boyhood Stevens attended school here at the San Rafael College, which was located at Fourth and E streets. Among his school mates were Judge Frank M. Angellotti, Peter Burtchaell and several others, who still reside here. A brother, William Stevens, made his home in San Rafael until his death a year or so ago, leaving a widow and a son, who still live here.
