Salesman Stricken By Heart Attack

B. F. Thomas, a traveling salesman employed by the Stewart-Hawes Shoe Company of 51 First street, San Francisco, dropped dead yesterday afternoon while selling an order of goods in Albert’s Store.

According to Mr. Albert, with whom the man was conversing at the time, Thomas sank to the floor without a sound or any apparent warning of the fatal attack, which has been pronounced by Dr. J. H. Kuser as heart trouble.

Thomas was 64 years of age. He arrived in San Rafael yesterday morning, and after calling on the trade here he made a trip to Pt. Reyes Station, making a few visits there. He had just reached San Rafael again, put his machine in a garage, intending to continue on to Petaluma and other northern points, and stepped into the store when the attack came. Mr. Schiff, of Albert’s, telephoned to the dead man’s wife, at 810 Contra Costa Road, Berkeley, of the death of her husband, and she arrived last night to take charge of t he remains, which had been removed immediately by Coroner J. Ray Keaton to the morgue. Thomas was a member of the Berkeley Lodge of Elks.
