EVELYN FAGAN
Evelyn Allison “Jolly” Fagan, a 40-year resident of Marin County, died Monday in a hospital after a short illness. She was 63.
She was born in a small mining town in Colorado and was reared in Wyoming. She became a registered nurse in 1936 and moved to Marin the following year.
Mrs. Fagan worked in San Rafael at the Cottage Hospital and in a San Anselmo doctor’s office until her marriage to George Fagan in 1943. She was a past president of the Marin nursing association.
Survivors are her husband in San Anselmo and two daughters, Katheryn S. Haun and Cecilia J. Simontacchi, also of San Anselmo. Also surviving are five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Anselm’s Church in San Anselmo, followed by burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo.
