Jean Enemark dies
Longtime civic leader
Jean White Enemark, longtime San Rafael civic leader and wife of Fred F. Enemark, retired Marin financier who also has been involved in many civic activities, died unexpectedly Monday while on a cruise off the California coast.
Mrs. Enemark, 65, apparently suffered a heart attack while aboard the Royal Viking ship Sky. She and her husband were on a cruise which was going first to Los Angeles and then to Alaska.
Mrs. Enemark was born and reared in San Francisco and was a graduate of the Hamlin School there.
She married Enemark in 1936 and they moved to San Rafael in 1936. Through the years, Mrs. Enemark was active in a host of organizations and activities, including the Marin Ballet Aquacade.
Most recently, she had been treasurer for the Pathfinders volunteer group at the Marin Art and Garden Center.
She also often accompanied her husband to civic affairs. Enemark retired in 1975 as vice chairman of the board of Bell Savings and Loan Association after a 40-year career in finance, but continued to be active in the community.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Enemark is survived by her son, Lee Enemark of Ukiah; her daughter, Susan Enemark of Chico; and three grandchildren.
No funeral is planned, but a memorial service will be held at a later date at a place to be announced.
