EDMOND MEYER
Edmond Meyer, a 50-year San Rafael resident and retired president of the San Rafael Coca-Cola Bottling Co., died in a local hospital Saturday after a week’s illness. He was 86.
Meyer was born in San Francisco. He came to Marin about 1912 and established the county’s first Coca-Cola distributorship in the early 1920s. He retired about 10 years ago.
Meyer was active in a number of organizations including the Islam Temple, Marin Masonic Lodge 151 and the Marin Shrine Club. He was a past president of the San Rafael Rotary Club.
He is survived by a daughter, Audrey Rasche of Santa Rosa, and a grandson. Meyer’s wife of 65 years, Florence Meyer, died in May.
Masonic services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Monte’s Mission Chapel in San Rafael. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children in San Francisco or a favorite charity.
