Luigi Laviosa Is Called by Death
Luigi Laviosa, highly respected resident and merchant of San Rafael for many years, passed away unexpectedly at his home Tuesday after a brief illness. He had been ill for about a week from influenza, and was believed to be recovering when pneumonia set in.
The funeral was held this morning, attended by many friends who had known and admired the deceased during long years of acquaintanceship.
Laviosa was highly educated, his knowledge of languages and his linguistic abilities having been employed constantly by officials of the local courts in the translation of letters and documents in foreign languages. He was also employed frequently as official interpreter.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Laura Laviosa, and his children, all of whom are adults. They are Arthur, Mario, Emil Louis and Ralph Laviosa and Mrs. G. Sutton.
Services were held at St. Raphael’s church this morning, and burial, under the direction of the F. E. Sawyer Company, was made in the Italian cemetery.
