THOMAS E. DOSSETT

Thomas E. Dossett, a Petaluma rest home owner, died Tuesday at a local hospital after a brief illness. He was 56.

Dossett, a native of Floral, Ark., moved to Marin County 22 years ago and worked as a carpenter.

Dossett moved to Petaluma 14 years ago, and seven years ago he and his wife, Rilda, bought the Cherry Hill rest home.

Dossett served in the army during World War II and was a member of the Carpenters Union, San Rafael local.

He also is survived by a son, Thomas W. Dossett of Petaluma; a daughter, Sharon K. Smith of Cotati; sisters, Lorel Churchwell, Lena Altom, Velda Bowen, Anna Altom and Lola Yount of Floral, Ark.; Oleta Allender of Batesville, Ark., Ival Colnar of Iowa Hills, Ca., Ava Davis of Davenport, Iowa, Lucille Beadville of Hebear Springs, Ark., and (sic) William Dossett of Elverta, Ca.; and one grandchild.

Funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Free Will Baptist Church of Petaluma. Burial will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the Heart Association of the Redwood Empire, P.O. Box 944, Santa Rosa, 95402.
