GERTRUDE L. ZANDERS
Gertrude L. Zanders, a Petaluma resident since 1942, died Saturday at a local hospital after a short illness. She was 68.
A native of Malvern, Iowa, she lived there until moving to Tomales in 1940. Two years later she and her husband, Fred Zanders, moved to Petaluma.
Mrs. Zanders was a homemaker.
She is also survived by a daughter, Alice Olufs, and a son, James Zanders, both of Petaluma; five sisters, Ruth Spangenberg, Gay Hendrix and Mary Moore of Petaluma, Phyllis Schoenthal of Cotati and Gladys Scherbring of Red Oak, Iowa; two brothers, Robert Guyer of Petaluma and Marvin Guyer of Prescott, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Parent Funeral Chapel, Petaluma. Burial will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
