JEAN HAND
Jean Hand, a 13-year Marin resident and a retired office manager, died Sunday at a local hospital. She was 57.
Mrs. Hand was a native of British Columbia. In 1954, she moved from Vancouver to San Francisco when she was transferred by her employer, Canada Life Association.
She managed the company’s San Francisco office until 1965, when she retired to marry Clarence Hand, an executive for Union Oil Co. for 47 years. The couple lived in San Rafael.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hand is survived by a sister, Agnes Taylor of Qualicum Beach, B.C., and two brothers, Dr. Alex J. Phillips of Toronto and Jack Phillips of Qualicum Beach.
A funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Keaton’s Mortuary, San Rafael.
The family prefers contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
