NICK PENDLETON
A funeral for G. N. “Nick” Pendleton, a commercial artist and photographer who lived in Tamalpais Valley for 26 years, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel, Mill Valley.
Pendleton, 66, died Saturday at Marin General Hospital
He was born and reared in San Francisco. He attended the California School of Fine Arts, not the Art Institute, and the California School of Advertising in San Francisco.
He served in the Rainbow Division of the Army during World War II.
Pendleton moved to Marin County in 1952. He was a member of the Tamalpais Valley Improvement Club and took part in its annual show, the Rhubarb Review.
He worked as a commercial artist, photographer and writer. His particular interest was sports car racing, and his photographs were used when Sears Point opened.
He is survived by his wife, Marcella; a son, Stephen Pendleton of Shafter; a daughter, Judith Von Duering of San Rafael; two sisters, Jean Macready of Vallejo and Winfred Dahler of San Francisco; and two grandchildren.
The burial service will be private at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael. The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
