Body Of Boy Found On Angel Island
The body of Julio Bassani, 7-year-old son of Joseph Bassani, 435 Chestnut street, San Francisco, was found on the shore of Angel Island last Sunday. The remains of the little fellow were removed to the morgue here by Coroner J. Ray Keaton, and positive identification made later by the father of the boy.
The father informed Coroner Keaton that his little son and another boy of the same age were fishing off a pier near Meiggs Wharf June 28, and Julio accidentally fell into the water. His companion, frightened, ran to a nearby playground for aid, which came too late to save the boy. Diligent search was made for the body. It was believed that t he strong undertow at that point carried the body out into the bay immediately. The little fellow leaves a brother and sister, besides his sorrowing parents. The funeral was held yesterday in San Francisco.
