DOROTHY MAY SCHMIDT
Bolinas writer
Dorothy May Schmidt of Bolinas died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1993, at Marin General Hospital. She was 76.
Mrs. Schmidt was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She also lived in New York City and Oklahoma before moving to Marin in 1965.
She graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and attended Iowa State University.
She worked in theater in New York and with the Red Dust Players in Oklahoma.
A play she wrote, “Damar,” was read recently in Bolinas.
She also liked painting and drawing.
Mrs. Schmidt is survived by two sons, Daniel Schmidt of Portland, Ore., and Joseph Schmidt of Cancun, Mexico; a brother, Daniel Rosenbaum of Tampa, Fla.; four grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.
Her husband of 52 years, Paul Schmidt, died last year.
A private memorial will be held.
