Sausalito Man Succumbs In Emergency Hospital
Herman F. Nauert, for many years a highly respected resident of Sausalito, passed away at the Cottage Hospital here Saturday night from an illness for which he had been under treatment for several months.
The funeral was held Tuesday morning at the F. E. Sawyer Parlors, and the remains were taken to Oakland for cremation.
The deceased was the husband of Mrs. Louise A. Nauert and the father of several children, all of whom are grown and reside in the bay district. Much of his life had been lived in Petaluma, where he was employed as a meat cutter. Upon removing to Sausalito he took employment as a watchman for the Northwestern Pacific Railroad company. He was a brother of Henry Nauert of Petaluma and Fred Nauert of Tiburon.
The children are Fred Jr., of Oakland; Mrs. William Soldate, of Petaluma; Mrs. T. Hayes, Mrs. Fred Schuman and Mervyn and Allan Nauert, of San Rafael, Mrs. Will Strittmatter, of Sausalito and Carl Nauert, of San Francisco. He was 68 years of age.
