WILLIAM F. HANSEN

A Mass of Christian Burial for William F. Hansen, a former resident of Marin for 50 years, will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Church in Weaverville, Trinity County.

Hansen, 63, died Saturday at a Trinity County hospital following a long illness.

Hansen was born in San Rafael and lived in Marin until 1964. He was a graduate of San Rafael High School. He worked at the American Distillery in Sausalito and as a ship fitter at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard. He was superintendent of Mount Olivet Cemetery in San Rafael for several years.

After moving to Trinity County, Hansen served as superintendent of all cemeteries in that county. He retired from the post a few years ago.

He was a member of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Association in Trinity County and the Holy Trinity Prayer Group in Weaverville.

He is survived by his wife, Florence Hansen of Weaverville; two sons, William Hansen of San Rafael and Robert Hansen of Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Karen Carrington and Denise Hansen, both of Weaverville; his mother, Mary Griffin of San Rafael; a sister, Virginia Johnson of San Anselmo; and five grandchildren.

The rosary will be recited today at 8 p.m. at the McDonald and Files mortuary in Weaverville. Burial will be private at Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family prefers memorial donations to St. Raphael’s grammar school in San Rafael.
