Game Keeper Killed In Auto Accident
Richard Thompson, game keeper for the Bolinas Rod and Gun Club, was instantly killed last Friday afternoon when he accidentally drove his machine over a steep embankment near the Lake Ranch while on his way from Bolinas to the hunting lodge.
The wrecked machine was discovered an hour or two later by Stephen Balzan, a boy riding horseback in the vicinity, and later Coroner J. Ray Keaton was notified. The body was brought to San Rafael, and arrangements were made for the funeral, which was held yesterday.
Thompson was well known here. He was 48 years of age, and is survived by a sister who resides in Canada. He was employed for many years by the Marin Water and Power Company and by the Barr brothers, as game keeper of their hunting camp.
