VICTORIA BETTINI
Victoria Bettini of San Rafael, mother of San Rafael Mayor C. Paul Bettini, died Friday in a local hospital following a brief illness. She was 84.
A native of Italy, Mrs. Bettini came to California in 1895 and lived for a short time in Occidental before moving to San Rafael.
She attended St. Raphael’s Parochial School. Mrs. Bettini, a homemaker, was married to Cesare Bettini, superintendent of Parks in San Rafael for many years. He died in 1964.
She is survived by two sons, the mayor and Richard V. Bettini of San Rafael; two daughters, Alice Sauter of Sonoma and Dorothy Frasier of San Rafael; three brothers, Frank Bertoni and Peter Bertoni, both of San Rafael, and George Bertoni of Stockton; three sisters, Sophie Bertoni and Camille Marelli, both of San Rafael and Theresa Bronson of Santa Rosa.
She also is survived by 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Private funeral service will be held Monday. Visitation is Sunday until 9 p.m. at Keaton’s Mortuary, San Rafael. The family prefers donations to a favorite charity.
