Eight-Year-Old Mill Valley Boy Dead in Distressing Mishap

Eight year old Franklin M. Simone of Mill Valley was buried at Olivet Memorial Park on Monday afternoon, following funeral services at the Robert Russell mortuary, Mill Valley.

The boy died late Saturday when he was strangled with a toy balloon, as he fell from a swing with the balloon in his mouth.

First to find the lad was his mother, Mrs. Matthew Simone. A physician was summoned and a resuscitator crew worked for hours in a vain effort to save the boy’s life.

It was believed the boy fell, head first from the swing, the blow rendering him unconscious, and he died in that state.

Besides the mother, his father and younger sister survive.
