Father And Child Succumb To Disease

John Stubbe, an old resident of Black Point, died at his home there last Thursday from an attack of diptheria. Some weeks before a young son had died of the same disease. They contracted the disease in San Francisco where they went to attend the funeral of a friend.

During his illness the home was strictly quarantined and no one was allowed to enter or leave it. Too much praise cannot be given to the brave nurse, Miss Cora Hunter, who remained at the bedside of the sick and did all in her power for them.

Dr. Kuser attended both father and son.

The house has been destroyed by fire and the supervisors will be called upon to pay the damages. This was thought to be the best way of preventing the spreading of the disease.

The deceased was 42 years of age and a trustee of the Black Point district.
