LETTIE RODRIGO
Memorial service for Lettie Rodrigo of Marinwood, formerly active in several volunteer groups in Marin, will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Keaton’s Chapel of Marin Mortuary in Novato.
Mrs. Rodrigo, 68, died Wednesday at a San Francisco hospital after a brief illness.
A native of Utah, she graduated from what is now Utah State University.
She was the wife of the late Col. Joseph Rodrigo, who had been assistant chief of staff in the War Department during World War II and then was a vice president with the United California Bank.
During his bank career, they lived in Greenbrae, Los Angeles, Madrid, Spain, and Corte Madera. After his retirement, they lived in San Diego. Following his death in June, she moved to Marinwood.
She had been active in the American Association for University Women and in volunteer programs for Guide Dogs for the Blind, the Girl Scouts, Marin General Hospital, and Sunny Hills School.
Surviving are her daughter, Stefanie Wayson of Cherry Hill, N.J.; her son, Dr. Juan Rodrigo of Novato; her sister, Ester Ferguson of Orinda; two brothers, Allen Israelsen of Fairfax, Va., and Melvin Israelsen of Salt Lake City; and two grandchildren.
Inurnment will be private at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno. The family has asked that memorial gifts go to the Guide Dogs for the Blind or the American Cancer Society’s Marin County branch.
