Death Suddenly Calls P. J. Murphy
Last Saturday night about 6 o’clock Patrick J. Murphy, the well-known house and sign painter, died suddenly at his home on Fourth street from an attack of heart trouble. Several weeks ago he suffered a similar attack and as a result lost the sight of his left eye.
The funeral took place in San Francisco on Monday. The interment was at Holy Cross cemetery.
Deceased was a man of sterling worth. Kind hearted, generous and honest, he won himself a host of friends in this community who feel his loss keenly and who now offer their heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing wife who survives him. Deceased was born in Sacramento in 1850. A sister, Mrs. Kate Swensen is still a resident of that city.
