HENRY J. JENSEN
A funeral for Henry J. Jensen, founder of Jensen’s Oyster Beds in Marshall, will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Sorensen Funeral Home, Petaluma.
Jensen, 88, died Saturday at his home in Morrow Bay after an illness. He had lived there since 1957.
Jensen was born and reared in Marshall. He had worked in ranching before founding the family oyster business in the early 1920s.
He retired in 1954, but the business remains a family operation. Jensen was a veteran of World War I.
His wife, Gertrude V. Jensen, and his son, Henry F. Jensen, preceded him in death.
He is survived by five grandchildren.
The concluding service will be held at St. Joseph’s Chapel at Tomales Catholic Cemetery. Burial will be in the family plot there. Recitation of the rosary will be at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
