ELSA KORBEL
Private funeral services were held yesterday for Elsa Korbel, a member of the famed California winemaking family. Miss Korbel died Saturday in San Rafael. She was 89.
A native of Santa Rosa, she was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Antone Korbel. Antone Korbel and his brothers founded the Korbel Winery in 1862.
Miss Korbel is survived by nieces Theresa Korbel Davis, Louise Korbel Hart, Mary Korbel Johnson, Frances Korbel Ferguson, Georgia Korbel Wood and Ann Mueller Burns.
The family prefers contributions to Save the Redwoods or to the donor’s favorite charity.
