ELMER T. SHUFF
Elmer T. Shuff of Novato, a Marin resident for the past 15 years, died Friday at Letterman Army Hospital in San Francisco. He was 61.
Shuff was born in Rhode Island. He joined the Army during World War II. He later served in the Army Air Corps and then the Air Force. He also served in Korea.
Shuff was discharged as a sergeant from the Air Force in 1967.
He went to work as a correctional officer at San Quentin, a job from which he retired in 1979.
Shuff was a member of El Paso Scottish Rite, El Paso, Texas; the Order of the Eastern Star; and a life member of the Air Force Sergeant’s Association.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Anne Shuff of Novato, and a sister, Gladys Thompson of Rhode Island.
At his request, there will be no service.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Redwood Chapel mortuary in Novato.
