Death Of M. Tomasini
Petaluma Argus –
M. Tomasini passed away at his home on Morton hill west of town at 5:30 o’clock Monday, after a long and painful illness, death being due to diabetes. In his demise the community loses an honored pioneer; a man whose name was synonomous (sic) with every attribute which goes to make an ideal man; a man whose word was as good as his bond and whose strict business principles and integrity are bywords.
Mattei Tomasini was a native of Switzerland aged 62 years and 8 months. He was a brother of the late Louis Tomasini and leaves a widow and four adult children as follows: Mrs. D. Spaletta; Amerigo, Henry and Merino Tomasini, besides legions of warm friends to mourn his going out.
For seventeen years Mr. Tomasini successfully conducted a large dairy at Nicasio, moving to this city about thirteen years ago where the family lived for three years. Then Mr. Tomasini bought his present beautiful place west of town and built a fine home where he resided in perfect enjoyment of life until overtaken by the illness which resulted fatally. He was a quiet, retiring citizen and did not belong to any fraternal organizations.
The funeral will take place Friday morning from the family home at 9:30 o’clock arriving at St. Vincent’s church at 10:30. There a requiem high mass will be celebrated after which the remains will be laid to rest at Calvary cemetery.
