Mrs. Clara Hock Crosses Great Divide Today

Mrs. Clara Hock, wife of the late Tobias Hock, passed away at her home on Fifth street this morning (Thursday) after being confined to her home for the past six months.

Mrs. Hock was 89 years of age and came to San Rafael 56 years ago, and has resided here ever since. She was born in Germany in May, 1851. She came to San Francisco when 20 years old and at 22 was married. Mr. and Mrs. Hock remained in San Francisco for 11 years, then moved to San Rafael.

About 10 years ago Mrs. Hock suffered a slight shock, but she soon recovered, and up to a few months ago was active healthy and strong for a woman of advanced years.

She was devoted to her family and home, and she enjoyed the love and respect of numerous friends, for her loving and hospitable disposition. She enjoyed helping those in need, and was a sympathetic person and kind in her every act.

Mrs. Hock was a member of Golden Star Rebecca Lodge, San Rafael, and was past president of the German Ladies Society.

She leaves to mourn her death, two sons, Toby and Harry Hock, daughter, Christine Klammer; sister, Mrs. Katie Baer, of Boston, and four grandchildren, Allan, Carol and Christine Hock and William Klammer.

Funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian church, on Saturday afternoon at 2:30, under the direction of Keaton and Dusal, with interment at Mt. Tamalpais cemetery.
