Accidental Shooting Of Orlando Soldate
In an accident which occurred on Monday at 4:30, twelve miles west of Petaluma, Orlando Soldate met a sudden death while out hunting.
Mr. Soldate saw a cotton tail rabbit and alighting from the buggy killed it. He returned to the rig, which was a rubber tired runabout from Mitchell’s livery stable. He placed the gun in the buggy and took his seat therein, when in some unexpected manner, the automatic pump gun was discharged. The shot hit the young man in the neck, tore away a side of the face and the ear and he fell a lifeless corpse into the road He never spoke after the accident.
Mr. Soldate was a native of Marin county but a resident of Petaluma. The accident occurred in Marin county and Coroner Sawyer went out and held an inquest on Tuesday.
