HELEN K. MULLIGAN

Burlingame – Helen K. Mulligan of Burlingame, mother of Ursula McCarthy of San Rafael, died Friday at a peninsula hospital following a long illness. She was 86.

Mrs. Mulligan was born in St. Louis, Mo., and moved to San Francisco in 1923 with her husband, Eddie Mulligan.

They made the move when Mulligan went to play third base for the San Francisco Seals of the Pacific Coast league after playing for the Chicago White Sox.

She lived for many years in San Francisco and moved to the peninsula about 20 years ago. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Apostleship of the Sea and the Good Shepherd Guild.

Besides her daughter, she is survived by her brother, James S. Manion, and seven grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Ignatius Church in San Francisco. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Recitation of the rosary will be Sunday at 8 p.m. at the Carew and English mortuary in San Francisco.
