PAUL W. TURNER

Corte Madera – A memorial service was held today for Paul W. Turner, a former professor at the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Strawberry.

Turner, 57, died Thursday at his Corte Madera home.

He was born in Arkansas. He served as a pastor in Tennessee for 30 years. He moved to Marin eight years ago and began teaching at the theological seminary.

He resigned in February to pursue other ministries in the area.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Turner of Corte Madera; two daughters, Carol Turner of Novato and Margaret Rickard of San Rafael; a son, Chuck Turner of Louisville, Ky.; two brothers, the Rev. B. J. Turner of Kentucky and Dr. J. B. Turner of Tennessee; and four sisters, Dorise Haynes and Irene Clayton of Tennessee, Louise Lockhard of Mississippi and Maxine Cloud of Arkansas.

Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery, Nashville, Tenn. The family prefers memorial gifts to the Chair of World Missions, in care of the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, Mill Valley, or to the foreign missions offering in care of the Tiburon Baptist Church.
