WILLIAM G. BURGER
A memorial service for William G. Burger of San Anselmo will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of the Chimes of Santa Rosa.
Burger died Saturday in a local hospital after a long illness. He was 84.
A native of Fresno, Burger moved to Marin County from Fort Bragg in 1942. He was a former city treasurer of Fort Bragg.
An Army veteran of World War I, Burger worked at Marinship in Sausalito during World War II. He later worked for a San Francisco hardware company.
He was a past commander of American Legion Sequoia Post 96 in Fort Bragg and was a past district commander. Hel also belonged to the International Order of Odd Fellows and the World War I Barracks of Marin County.
Burger is survived by his wife, Pauline of San Anselmo; two sons, William Burger Jr. of San Francisco and Paul Burger of Woodacre; and three grandchildren.
