Boy Fatally Burned Before Mother’s Eyes

Tragedy entered the life of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sherman of Larkspur last Friday when their little son, Albert, aged 4 years, was burned so severely that he died shortly afterwards at the Emergency Hospital here.

Watching from a window her child at play in the backyard of their home, Mrs. Sherman saw the little one’s clothing burst into flame. He had secured a box of matches. She rushed from the house and attempted to smother the flames, which she succeeded in doing by means of a blanket. She then carried the child to the street, hailed a passing autoist and took the boy to the hospital, where he later died.

The father is employed in a San Francisco store.
