MARIA VANONI

Maria Vanoni, a longtime Tomales and Petaluma resident, died Thursday at a local convalescent hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 92.

A native of Switzerland, she came to the United States in 1908 and settled in Tomales. She lived there until 1967 when she moved to Petaluma to live with a daughter, Amelia Brog.

Mrs. Vanoni was a member of the Church of the Assumption, Tomales. Her husband, Emilio Vanoni, preceded her in death.

She is also survived by another daughter, Katie Klimansky of Santa Rosa; a son, Lawrence Vanoni of Tomales; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A blessing service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Chapel at Tomales Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call after noon Sunday at the Parent Funeral Chapel, Petaluma.

Entombment will be at Tomales Catholic Cemetery. The family prefers that contributions be made to the building fund of the Church of the Assumption, Tomales.
