Denis Donohoe Dies Suddenly At Home
His hosts of friends in Marin county and San Francisco, as well as in Eastern states and Europe were shocked last Monday to learn of the sudden death of Denis Donohoe, financial editor of the San Francisco Examiner.
Before entering the newspaper field the deceased was a member of the law firm of McCormick & Donohoe.
The end came at his home here, Mission and Grand avenues, where he had resided alone since the death of his wife about three years ago. He returned here last Saturday from a San Francisco hospital, where he had been ill for a few days, and expected to resume his duties on the Examiner Monday morning.
When he had not appeared at his customary hour in the morning, an employee investigated and found Donohoe dead on the floor of his bedroom. He had arisen but had not yet dressed. It is presumed that death resulted from heart trouble, with which he had been afflicted for some time past. He was 63 years of age.
Donohoe is survived by a son, Denis Donohoe Jr., who is in the automobile business in South Bend, Indiana.
The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 10 o’clock, with services at the Masonic Hall under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge, of which he was a member.
Burial will be made under the direction of the Eden Undertaking parlors on C street, in Mt. Tamalpais cemetery.
