DALE LEE NEWBOLD
Dale Lee Newbold of Petaluma, a former Marin resident, died Sunday at a local hospital after a short illness. He was 53.
A native of San Francisco, Newbold was reared in Marin County. He attended Tamalpais High School, College of Marin and San Francisco State University.
Newbold had been active for many years in the Catholic Youth Organization of Marin and had served as a basketball coach for many years. He had moved to Petaluma three years ago.
Newbold, a Navy veteran of World War II, had been a salesman for most of his working life. He had last worked as a manufacturer’s representative for Wheeling Pacific.
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Petaluma.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Newbold of Petaluma; four daughters, Dana Prichard, Maryanne Newbold and Margaret Newbold of Petaluma and Elizabeth Newbold of San Anselmo; two sons, Wes and Patrick Newbold of Petaluma; a brother, Donald A. Newbold of San Rafael; and four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered today at St. James Catholic Church, Petaluma. Private burial was at Cypress Hill Memorial Park.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to the Catholic Youth Organization, 898 Third St., Santa Rosa, Ca.
