ARTHUR C. WHEELER
Arthur C. Wheeler of Reno, a former Marin resident for more than 60 years and part of a prominent local family, died unexpectedly Wednesday at his home. He was 77.
He was born in Burlington, Vt. And came to Marin as a child with his parents in 1906. His father, Almon Wheeler, operated a construction company in Marin for many years and did much construction in Larkspur.
He was a graduate of Tamalpais High School. He worked as an accountant for many years. Wheeler worked for the Bank of Italy in Mill Valley before it became the Bank of America and worked in the shipyards in Sausalito during World War II.
After the war, he worked for several car agencies in the county until 1971 when he retired and moved to Reno.
He is survived by his wife, Mary-Lou Wheeler of Reno; three daughters, Lois Crook of Reno, Jeanne Leoncini of San Rafael and Marilyn Lazar of Davis; two brothers, Burt Wheeler of Larkspur and Rae Wheeler of Las Vegas; and seven grandchildren.
