JOHN A. GRUBERT
The funeral service for John A. Grubert, 66, a former resident of San Rafael, was held this morning in Sacramento.
Grubert had been a carpenter in Marin for 25 years before moving to Sacramento 16 years ago.
He died Thursday at a Sacramento hospital after an illness.
Grubert operated the Pelican Club, a bar in Sacramento, until he retired four years ago.
He was born in San Francisco but was reared in Marin.
During World War II he served with the Army Air Corps.
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Grubert of Sacramento; two sons, Lawrence J. Grubert of Novato and Dan Grubert of Butte County; a daughter, Jackie Colvin of Sacramento; his mother, Bessie Grubert of Greenbrae; a sister, Diane Molinelli of Greenbrae; and eight grandchildren.
Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Sacramento.
