A. Pedrotti Killed By Mad Bull

J. Pedrotti, brother of M. J. Pedrotti, president of the Bank of San Rafael, was killed last Sunday as the result of an attack by a bull, on his dairy ranch near Santa Rosa. The bull was the Holstein type and was considered a pet about the ranch.

Pedrotti was leading the bull by a chain, when the animal, which had been dehorned, lunged at its owner and knocked him to the ground. The chain became wrapped about the man’s body and he became helpless, while the maddened animal butted him and dragged him about the corral.

Mrs. Pedrotti, who tried to drive the bull away, was knocked to the ground several times but managed to get into a barn where she procured a pitch fork. She jabbed this into the bull, which infuriated him still more and she had to call upon neighbors. Help soon arrived but Mr. Pedrotti was dead and his lifeless body was carried to the house nearby.

Funeral services were held Wednesday and the remains were taken to Bolinas where the family lived for many years, before going to Duncan Mills and to Petaluma. Deceased was a member of the Bolinas Grove of Druids.
