NICHOLAS McMAHON
Judge McMahon is Laid to Rest

Marin and San Francisco friends on Monday morning paid their last respects to one of Marin's most respected citizens - Judge NICHOLAS McMAHON of Fairfax, who died at his Manor home February 22, 1940.

The funeral was held at 9:00 o'clock at the Keaton & Dusel Chapel in San Rafael, and the cortege then proceeded to St. Rita's Church in Fairfax, where mass was said at 9:30 o'clock. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. McMAHON was a lawyer, and held the title of judge as he presided over the Fairfax Municipal Court. He was a native of San Francisco, and was but 61 years old. He formerly was a member of the Democratic County Central Committee of Marin, and 6 years ago made a splendid race for State Treasurer. A man of keen mind and of deep understanding, he made many close friends, and news of his death, following a long illness, came as a distinct shock to scores on scores of Marin people.

He was a member of San Rafael Council No. 1292, K. of C., and of the Holy Name Society of St. Rita's Church, Fairfax.

Surviving Judge McMAHON is his widow, Mrs. JESSIE I. McMAHON, 2 sons, NICHOLAS F. McMAHON, Jr. AND WILLIAM G. McMAHON, and a brother, JOSEPH P. McMAHON.
