DAVID MARIANI

The horrifying experience of seeing her father fatally hurt in a railroad crash, came to Mrs. HELEN PETRI, of Kentfield, Monday evening at 6:30 o'clock.

Returning home by bus from San Francisco, Mrs. PETRI was held up at the railroad crossing at Kentfield, the bus driver stopped by the wig-wag signal.

As Mrs. PETRI looked out the window of the vehicle, she saw her father, DAVID MARIANI, 63, drive on the railroad tracks with his horse and wagon ... saw the train hit and totally demolish the wagon ... saw her father's still form beside the tracks.

Taken to Ross General Hospital, the unfortunate man died at 7:30 Tuesday morning. No medical aid could keep life in his broken body.

MARIANI was a woodcutter and also did farm work. His wagon contained a plow and other farm implements. He had been a resident of Kentfield for 35 years.

Mr. MARIANI leaves a widow, Mrs. MARGARET MARIANI; 2 sons, DAVID MARIANI Jr., and GUIDO MARIANI; and the daughter, Mrs. PETRI. Funeral services are being held this Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at the chapel of Guy W. Jenness & Company, San Anselmo. Interment is to be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
