SARAH ANN LONG
A Mass of Christian Burial for Sarah Ann Long of San Rafael will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Isabella’s Church in Terra Linda.
Mrs. Long died Wednesday at Kaiser Hospital in Terra Linda after a six month illness. She was 61.
She was a native of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and lived there until moving to Marin County and San Rafael 18 years ago.
Mrs. Long was office manager for the Ironworkers Union in San Francisco and also worked many years as the office manager and assistant to the director of the Carpenter’s Apprenticeship Program in San Francisco.
She was a member of the Office Workers Union and was made an honorary member of the Council of Unions.
Mrs. Long was also an avid rug cutter.
She is survived by her husband, Henry Thomas Long of San Rafael; two sons, Michael Wood of Sioux City, Iowa, and Mark Wood of Paradise, Butte County; two daughters, Colleen Kay of San Diego and Barbara Halloran of San Jose; two sisters, Norma Dye of Phoenix, Ariz., and Teddy Underwood of Mira Loma, Riverside County; a brother, Jack Agnew of Las Vegas, Nev.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Recitation of the rosary will be at 8 p.m. Sunday at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael. Burial will be at Valley Memorial Park in Novato.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
