EDMUND C. MATHIESEN
Edmund “Ed” C. Mathiesen of Penngrove died Wednesday at his home. He was 82.
He was born in Petaluma and had lived his whole life in the Petaluma and Penngrove areas. He was a descendant of the Weigand family, early settlers of the area.
Mr. Mathiesen worked all his life as a carpenter. He was well known in the Penngrove area for helping his friends and neighbors with projects.
He was a member of the Vitruvius Masonic Lodge in Bloomfield.
He is survived by two cousins, Evelyn Hurd of Mill Valley and Elma Gervasoni of Petaluma.
At his request, no funeral was held. Private inurnment was at Cypress Hill Memorial Park in Petaluma.
