MARJORIE B. EDWARDS
A private service has been held in Colorado Springs, Colo., for Marjorie B. Edwards, a former Kentfield resident.
Mrs. Edwards, who was 83, died Dec. 10 in Colorado Springs.
Except for three years spent in the Philippine Islands, she lived 50 years in Marin.
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and came with her parents, John A. and Mary S. Bond, to Berkeley as an infant. She attended Berkeley High School, the University of California at Berkeley, and San Jose State College, where she was one of the first women student body presidents in 1925.
Mrs. Edwards was an accomplished violinist and was a member and former reader of the Christian Science Church.
Her first marriage was to Graham B. Peake. They had one son, Donald S. Peake.
Her second marriage was to Julian M. Edwards, and they had two children, John M. Edwards and Jacqueline R. Kirk.
Mrs. Edwards’ husband of 38 years, Julian M. Edwards, died in 1973. Her son, John M. Edwards, died in 1984, and her daughter, Jacqueline R. Kirk, died earlier this year.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by her son, Donald S. Peake of Colorado Springs, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
