HAROLD S. HOWE
Harold S. Howe, 76, a former longtime Mill Valley resident and retired bartender, died at Sonoma Valley Hospital in Sonoma Saturday after a short illness.
Mr. Howe had lived in Sonoma about 15 years.
He was born and grew up in Minneapolis, moving to San Francisco in about 1930. He came to Mill Valley in 1940.
He was a member of the Bartenders and Culinary Workers Union in San Rafael and worked at numerous Marin bars, including the 881 Club in San Rafael, DeBorba’s in Novato and several Mill Valley bars. He retired about six years ago.
Mr. Howe is survived by his wife, Ruth Ursula Howe of Sonoma; a son, Jim Howe of Mill Valley; a daughter, Judy Hernandez of Grass Valley; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
At Mr. Howe’s request, there will be no service.
