NEVILLE J. RICH
Neville J. Rich, 86, a Belvedere resident for 20 years, died Tuesday in a local convalescent hospital.
Private funeral services will be held. Russell and Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley is handling arrangements.
A memorial service will be scheduled later.
The Sydney, Australia, native was vice president for Precision Electotype (?) Co. in San Francisco for 37 years before retiring 23 years ago.
He moved to Belvedere from San Francisco.
Rich received his education in England, graduating with honors with an engineering degree from Trinity College in Cambridge, England.
He was a balloonist in Egypt during World War I with the British Army. After the war, he moved to San Francisco.
Rich was a member of the San Francisco Advertising Club of the West, the San Francisco Zoological Society, International Hospitality Center, San Francisco Yacht Club and the Belvedere Sailing Society.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Steinau Rich of Belvedere; one daughter, Elisabeth Wertheim of Hawaii; a son, Neville Rich Jr. of San Francisco; a stepdaughter, Shirley Cerf of San Francisco; a stepson, Allen Steinau of Belvedere; eight grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.
Memorial gifts are preferred to the Belvedere-Tiburon Landmarks Society, the San Francisco Zoological Society or to favorite charity.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that he was the grandfather of Anne, Judy, David and Matthew Wertheim and Edward, Andrew, Julie and Daniel Rich. A loving parent and grandparent to the families of Shirley and Arthur Cerf and Marilyn and Allen Steinau.
