DALE I. PARKER
Dale I. Parker, 65, a longtime resident of Marin County, died Thursday at Kaiser Hospital in Terra Linda after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Parker was a native of California. He had lived in San Anselmo for the past 21 years. Prior to that, he lived for t here years in Fairfax.
He was a music teacher for 16 years for the San Anselmo School District. He retired in 1976.
He had attended Westminster Choir College in New Jersey and earned a graduate degree in choral conducting.
He was the organist for many years at Marin Pizza Pub in San Rafael.
Mr. Parker was a member of the Army Air Force Band and the American Federation of Musicians Local 6.
He also was a member of the Las Gallinas Sanitary District Non-Marching Band and played in the orchestra and band at the College of Marin.
Mr. Parker is survived by his wife, Fern Parker of San Anselmo; two sons, Philip Parker of San Anselmo and Kenneth Parker of Seattle, Wash.; three daughters, Carolyn Parker of San Francisco, Lorna Parker of San Rafael and Janis Kall of San Francisco; a brother, Rex Parker of Oregon; and one grandchild.
There will be a musical celebration and memorial service at 7 p.m. March 21 at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church in Ross.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the music fund at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
