MARTHA ALYCE MYRICK

The funeral for Martha Alyce Myrick, a former longtime resident of San Anselmo, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo.

She died March 8 in a nursing home in Gunter, Texas, after a lengthy illness. She was 99.

Mrs. Myrick, the former Martha Haney, was born and reared in Texas. Known affectionately as “Madre” by her family and friends, she had resided in San Anselmo for many years.

She was an active member of several Marin congregations of the Church of Christ.

Mrs. Myrick left San Anselmo for Texas about five years ago.

She is survived by her son, Julian Haney Myrick of Mountain Home, Ark.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Her late husband, William Jack Myrick, and her daughter, Paula Butcher, preceded her in death.

Friends are invited to attend her funeral at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo. Burial will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael.
