Pioneer Marin Citizen Dies Following Severe Heart Attack
Thomas E. Redding, a lifelong resident of Marin County, died at Ross General Hospital on Saturday afternoon. He had been in critical condition for several days, following a severe heart attack, and the end was not unexpected. He was born in Nicasio 76 years ago and was a farmer for many years. For the past two years he had been residing at Point Reyes Station, and in April of this year had purchased the Cavanaugh property here.
Surviving are six children: James E., Thomas C. and William F. Redding, Mrs. Mary Reithenberg, Mrs. Annie Wright and Sister M. Eymard. He was a brother of the late Charles Redding, for many years treasurer of Marin County. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael. Mass was said at St. Raphael’s Church and interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
