HUGH RILEY
A private service was to be held today at Saint Cecilia’s Church in San Francisco for Hugh Riley, 67, of Sonoma.
Mr. Riley, a real estate agent, died Saturday at Marin General Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Riley was born and raised in Cleveland. He was graduated from Villanova University in Pennsylvania.
During World War II, he served in the Navy in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters of operation. Mr. Riley attained the rank of lieutenant commander.
At the time of his death, he was a realtor associate with the Home & Land Co. in San Rafael. His previous work had been with Oliver Tire and Rubber in Oakland.
He was chairman of the Sonoma County Community Blood Bank.
Mr. Riley is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Riley of Sonoma; eight children, Kathleen Schnabel of Washington, D.C., Maureen Reardon of San Francisco, Rory Riley of Los Angeles, Sheila King of Concord, Susan Alberigi of Danville, Deborah Poiani of Rohnert Park, John Riley of Santa Rosa and Brigid Pickering of Sonoma; and three sisters, Kathleen Wilson of Cleveland, Mary Ross of Baton Rouge, La., and Nancy Scigue of Cleveland.
The family prefers memorial gifts to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or to an eye bank.
