Services Held at Tomales for Ella Jorgensen, 79

Mrs. Ella Jorgensen, who had lived in Tomales since her marriage in June, 1883, passed away at her home Sunday afternoon, July 22. Born in Irish Hall, Bodega, Mrs. Jorgensen would have been 80 years old in September. She was the widow of Fred Jorgensen who came to Tomales from Denmark in 1873, and who died in 1941. The Jorgensens celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1933.

Mrs. Jorgensen was apparently well at noon and was seen at her door waving to a departing visitor. She was found in mid-afternoon by Mrs. M. U. Keene, a daily caller at the home. Mrs. Jorgensen had many friends in San Rafael, Petaluma and Santa Rosa, as well as in Tomales.

Rev. Britten, former Two Rock pastor, officiated at the funeral. Pall bearers included George Keene, Henry Linderman, A. B. Dickinson, Eugene Brown and Romeo Cerini.

Mrs. Jorgensen had purchased her own headstone and had it placed in the family plot several decades ago. It is a monument identical to those of her late husband and four children.
