GEORGE C. STABELL

A funeral for George C. Stabell, a longtime Kentfield resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at t he Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo.

Mr. Stabell died Tuesday at the Greenbrae Convalescent Hospital after a short illness. He was 99.

He was born in Greece and came to the United States in 1906. Mr. Stabell had lived in Larkspur before moving to Kentfield more than 50 years ago.

Mr. Stabell worked many years in the hotel business and had been both a maitre d’ and chef at several hotels. He retired 41 years ago from his post at the St. Francis Hotel.

He was a member of Odd Fellows chapter in Oakland and the Culinary Union of San Francisco.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marie F. Stabell of Kentfield.

Entombment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland
